Hiking along the Delaware & Raritan Canal path is an activity that we enjoy in every season, especially when there's caching involved. This is our small contribution to the series of caches found along this trail. This "milestone" cache is a magnetic key holder with just a log.
This path was once was the mainline of the
Belvidere Delaware Railroad (1855-1876)
Pennsylvania RR. BEL-DEL Division (1876-1962)
Penn-Central Railroad (1962-1976)
Conrail abandoned the line in 1976, and the rails were taken up in 1980.
The numbers on the milestone represent the miles to Belvidere (43) and the miles to Trenton (25).
Please use stealth as this area is quite popular with hikers, bikers, and fishermen. Bring your own writing implement.
