Helppo peruskätkö Parantalankosken vesivoimalaitoksen läheisyydessä. A straightforward traditional cache in the area of Parantalankoski water power plant.
Parantalankosken voimalaitos on otettu käyttöön vuonna 1960. Sen teho on 1,2 megawattia ja vuosittainen energiantuotanto keskimäärin kolme gigawattituntia. Alas virtaavalla vedellä on 13 metrin pudotuskorkekus. Lähde: (visit link)
Vesi johdetaan normaalisti Pyhäjärvestä alas voimalaitokseen ja Kiimasjärveen suuren putken kautta. Niin kauan kuin itse muistan, on tämä putki vuotanut vettä aina kevääseen 2012 asti. Kesäisin paikalla oli vesisuihkuja useisiin eri suuntiin, talvisin taas lisäksi suuria jäämuodostelmia. Etenkin lopputalvesta jäämuodostelmien koot olivat paikalla mahtavat.
Keväällä 2012 paikkaa on uudistettu ja putkea paranneltu sekä päällystetty soralla, joten itse putkesta ei ole enää näkyvissä kuin pieni pätkä.
Putken ja voimalaitoksen lisäksi kätkön vieressä kulkee rautatie ja kosken ylittävä kaarisilta. Kätkö on pieni Curver-purkki ja pitäisi olla simppeli löydettävä. Autolla pääsee aivan kätkön viereen.

Normally the water from Pyhäjärvi lake is lead down to Kiimasjärvi lake and the power plant through a large pipe. As far as the cache maker remembers, this pipe had always leaked until the spring of 2012. In summers, there were lots of water showers from the pipe to different directions, and during the winters, there were lots of interesting looking ice formations. Especially late in the winters the formations were often spectacular.
During the spring of 2012 the place was largely revamped and the pipe was buried under gravel. Therefore, only a short stretch of the pipe is visible anymore.
In addition to the pipe and the water power plant, a railway goes by the cache location. The railway passes the place on an arch bridge. The cache container is a small Curver box and should be easy to find. It is possible to come right next to the hide location by car.
