Geocache Description:

As part of the Waikato RIver Trails, a mini trail within a trail.

Dunham Creek mobility trail provides an opportunity for people using wheel chairs, mobility scooters and even baby buggies to enjoy the call of the tui and move among hundreds of fantails. The Trail starts with a bridge across a trout spawning stream.

Opening Day photo shows a keen wheelie, with the then Prime Minister, Rt Honourable Helen Clark walking behind (in blue)

LENGTH: 800m return
ACCESS: From Dunham Creek Reserve off Ongaroto Road (SH 30).
HIGHLIGHTS: Roll'n'stroll across the trout stream bridge and through native bush and wetlands, Tui and bellbird song can often be heard here with fantails towards the turn-around point.

And for geocachers, a 1 litre sistema box of goodies below your wheels (or feet).

There is a dream for 100km of walking trails (and biking) alongside the Waikato river from Arapuni in the north to Atiamuri in the south. This dream is slowly becoming a reality, passing several Hydro Power Stations.

Parking Waypoint is included. There is a very short gravel start to the path. The rest is level, mostly boardwalk.
