Puisqu'il n'y a pas eu de maintenance dans un laps de temps raisonnable, j'archive cette cache définitivement.

Geocache Description:

Une vieille église dans un joli petit vallon.
An old church in a small and beautiful valley.

La première mention écrite de cette église date de 1139, mais elle est certainement beaucoup plus ancienne.
Au 15ième siècle, le roi Louis XI aime chasser dans la proche forêt de Chinon. C'est donc dans cette église qu'il vient à la messe et signe ses ordonnances.
Puis, à partir du 16ième siècle, la population quitte progressivement ce vallon de Rigny pour se concentrer autour du chateau d'Ussé. Cette église se retrouve de plus en plus isolée et abandonnée.
Depuis 1983, l'église est propriété de l'ASSOCIATION DES AMIS DE NOTRE DAME DE RIGNY. L'association la restaure progressivement pour lui donner une nouvelle vie..

1139 is the date of the the first written mention of this church. However it is certainly much more ancient.
During the 15th century, King Louis XI likes going hunting in the near forest of Chinon. He comes often in this church for the mass and for signing his ordinances.
Then, since the 16th century, the population leaves gradually this valley of Rigny to re-concentrate around the castel of Ussé. This church becomes progressively isolated and abandoned.
Since 1983, the church is property of the ASSOCIATION DES AMIS DE NOTRE DAME DE RIGNY. The association restores it step-by-step.
