Stockport Heritage Trail - Town Hall Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

Royal Oak: As the CO is not interested in maintaining the cache (it has needed it since April), or adopting it to another CO I have no option but to archive it. Any of those complaining are welcome to put their own cache here.

Geocache Description:

This is one of a small series of caches along Stockports Heritage Trail. The full trail is well worth the walk and a map can be obtained from the Information Centre which is situated in the market place.

The Town Hall was built in 1904-1908 in the Baroque style and is known locally as the Wedding Cake. It was designed by Sir Alfred Brumwell Thomas and is based on the design of Belfast City Hall
Opposite the Town Hall is the former infirmary. It was built in 1832 in the Classic Greek Style. IT is 100ft in length with the principle entrance consisting of a portico supported by fluted Doric columns. The cost of this institution was £5,300 raised entirely by voluntary contributions.

The cache is a magnetic nano
