Geocache Description:

My Favorite PWA's

This is part of My Favorite PWA's series. What is a PWA? A public water access of course. This series lists all of my favorite PWA's where I like to boat, fish and swim. Thanks to the MN DNR for providing these wonderful areas.

Minnesota River PWA - Shakopee (New)

I grew up in Shakopee, but have not lived there for many years now. This PWA was put in after the new river bridge was built here. I wouldn't recommend fishing or swimming at this PWA unless you like carp and muddy water. The river bottoms are a great place to hike and explore however. Be wary of the nettle, it grows very well in the river mud.

This is a nice and easy two part multi/puzzle cache. THE ACTUAL CACHE/FINAL STAGE IS NOT LOCATED IN THE MINNESOTA VALLEY WILDLIFE MANAGEMENT AREA. At the first stage, you will find a large boulder with a metal plaque attached to it. On the plaque is the inscription, "_ _ _'s Landing". Take those three letters and convert to numbers using the A=1, B=2, C=3, etc. system. Add the three numbers up and call it X. Then complete this formula, N 44 48.238-X W 093 30.X+769, for the final stage coordinates.
