A Puzzle Masters
Challenge cache
PMC: PUZZLE MASTER'S CHALLENGE
This puzzle is part of a series of puzzles created by the greatest
Puzzle Masters of the Mid Atlantic Region. There are a number of
Puzzle Masters contributing to this series. Solve all of the Puzzle
Masters' creations, follow the storylines, gather the clues and
find the final. Will you accept the challenge?
Each puzzle is a unique work of art created and owned by each
Puzzle Master/Puzzle Team. In each cache there will be a clue that
you must gather and record. These clues will lead you to a final
mystery cache located somewhere in the mid-Atlantic region. This
series is designed to lead you on an epic adventure that will
require Master puzzle-solving skills and extensive travel to unique
locations. You must travel and log in at each cache in order to
claim a find on the final. Due to the extensive time and effort put
into this challenge, the cache can be done as a group but each
member of the group must go to each cache site and sign each log.
Dividing into sub groups and pooling their efforts will not be
allowed.

MY STORY
Back in the 1700s one of the forefathers of the Littleton clan
had a dream (was it really a dream?).....
Grandpa was standing in the middle of a
gathering……strangers everyone……odd
clothes....different languages....perhaps even faraway times (was
time travel a reality?).
The voice from on high told of a great treasure that would
remain hidden “until the time is right” and that time
would not be right “until the White House contains an
amendable person”.
Each of the Puzzle Masters, as the gathered were called, were
given a leather pouch containing what was called "THE clue". All of
"THE clue"s would be needed to locate the great treasure.
Each Puzzle Master was instructed to hide their clue in the
safest of places and then create a challenging puzzle to conceal
the identity of their clue's hiding place. This puzzle was to be
placed in the leather pouch. The leather pouch was to passed down
from generation to generation…..but only to the oldest son.
Each successive generation was to make an addition to the puzzle
before passing the leather pouch on...My father’s addition to
the puzzles was to add a puzzle on each page that would reveal the
numerical order of the pages.
[I learned at Thanksgiving dinner (2008) that my dad gained his
interest in puzzles from his grade school principal Dr. John W.(who
later in life became dad's dear friend).....Research on-line
revealed that Dr. W. was born almost exactly 100 years before
me......well, actually 5 days less than 100 years.]
The puzzle was only to be revealed when the time was near [how
and when was always a mystery but each generation was assured that
it would be obvious when "it was time"].
Looks like it will be time for the great treasure to be found
right after the Nov 2008 election:
If Obama/Biden are elected ……Obama may be
considered a representative of Amendment 15
If McCain/Palin are elected……Sarah may be consider
a representative of Amendment 19.
With the time drawing nigh……I feel it is time to
reveal the puzzle of my pouch...Geocaching.com seems the
appropriate place to reveal my puzzles………some
cachers appear to be Puzzle Masters.
Please help me locate and release the great treasure before the
muggles snatch it.

Just as the minute hand of a clock passes the 12, an ant crawls
onto the clock at the 6 and starts walking counterclockwise along
the outer edge of the clock at a constant speed. When it collides
with the minute hand, the ant reverses direction and crawls
clockwise around the edge of the clock at the same speed it
originally crawled. Forty-five minutes later the ant collodes with
the minute hand a second time. At this point the ant jumps off the
clock. How many minutes less than or more than one hour did the ant
spend on the clock?

NOTE (Thanksgiving): After dinner today, I was going through
some of my father's things when I came across a notebook cover page
with "Places Where C.H.A.N.G.E. Was Named" stenciled on the cover.
I wondered if this was some political document from the Obama
camp......that didn't make any sense to me.....my dad was NOT
political. A second look at the cover revealed faint letters
written below each of the letters in C.H.A.N.G.E.
........C.alifornia.....H.elios....A.mericas...N.eptune...G.ermany...E.urope.
?????Surely no-one from Earth has been to the sun or a distance
planet.
NOTE (10-7-08): Clarification has been added to the third listed
page; addition has been made to the fourth listed page.
NOTE (11-11-08) Multiple answers may be acceptable but the 6th
puzzled ended up having an alternate answer that was NOT acceptable
for The Order and, therefore, that puzzle has been changed. I
apologize for any inconvenience caused
