A little cache hidden in a little wooded corner of Martinsville.
Talk about a return to a childhood haunt. Back in the 60s, this was a cleared dirt hill, but it has since grown over. My friends and I used to dirt bike on this hill before dirt bikes were the rage (we built our own out of spare parts). From the cache site, if you look to the east, you'll see a wooded hillside; from there, we rode down the hill and hit the mound below, from which we could jump a dozen or so feet into the air. The key was stopping on a dime after the jump so as not to go over the edge toward the road. (Back in those days, that part of the hillside was covered in jagged rocks).
You may park along the east side of Indian Trail right at the bottom of the hill — there's a small recess there where a driveway was once going to be cut. Bring your own pen. And please be sure to re-hide the cache just as you found it.
Feel free to jump when you find the cache, but don't fall down and go boom.
Congrats to Kuykenew, FTF.
