Geocache Description:

A micro (35mm film canister) cache hidden at the summit of Mt Auckland.

From Kaipara Hills Rd carpark (probably the easiest approach) it's a 3.5km walk to the summit and the cache, where you will have views practically 360 degrees - including the Kaipara harbour mouth, the Coromandel and Great Barrier Island.

The track is very rough in places and deserves some respect so go prepared. It could be very muddy in winter or after rain.

The coordinates have an estimated error of 2.0 metres with 11 satellites fixed so should be pretty good.

The cache contains a log sheet but no pencil, so please BYO writing implement.

This is an easy cache find to reward the effort expended getting here. You'll understand the name of the cache when you arrive at the summit.
