This cache is the last of several I have placed over the last few days. This is a small series in celebration of my one year of caching anniversary! They are all relatively easy, as that is what I started with, the easy ones. But, to add a little fun, the series is designed after a fun game our family likes to play. So each cache will be given a seldom used word to accompany it, and it will often fit the cache area or hide. I hope you enjoy these! The definition will be in the hint. See if you can define the word first, before decrypting, most of these caches will not need a hint anyway.
This cache is located at Lake Medina. Entrance is off of Route 18. In the early 1960's, the city of Medina was looking for a way to supplement its water supply. This upland reservoir at Lake Medina began. Through the creation of a long earthen levy, the valley adjoining the west brand of the Rocky River was flooded with water pumped from the river. After June 2002, due to increasing demands for more water with city growth, an alternate water supply was needed and Lake Medina was no longer used. More info can be found at medinacountyparks.com.
Oh, and while you are there, be on the alert for the Vodyanoy, said to be seen during the first full moon. Eating a Junior Mint while humming the Star Spangled Banner is said calm him. Let me know if it works.
