Capela de São Romão
A construção da primitiva ermida ascende a 1586, mas as obras estiveram suspensas até 1598. D Jerónimo Barreto, em 1603, ordena a celebração de uma missa mensal. Existia um anexo que servia de casa de Romagem. Da primitiva ermida seiscentista nada resta, mas devia de ocupar o espaço da actual capela.
Teve sucessivos restauros e em 1802 construi-se a actual capela, de nave única e capela-mor rectangulares.
Constituindo um interessante exemplar de arquitectura religiosa rural, ostenta uma fachada delimitada por cunhais, soco, cimalha e frontão recortado.
Aqui foram encontrados, em sinais do século XIX, por Estácio da Veiga dois monumentos funerários que constituem espólio arqueológico do Concelho de São Brás de Alportel.
The building of the ancient church goes back to 1586, but the work on it was suspended until 1598. Inthe 1603 Bishop D. Jerónimo Barreto ordered that a Mass was to be held in this church every month. Back then there was already an annex to the church which was used as a Pilgrimage Shelter.
From the original 16thbuilding nothing remains to these days, but it is presumed that it must have stood in the same place as the present-day church. The original building was restored several times and the present church was built in 1802with a single rectangular nave and a fronton, this small church is quite as interesting sample of the rural religious architecture of the time.
At the end of the 20thcentury two funerary monuments (stone altars) were found here by the well known archaeologist Estácio da Veiga.
