Geocache Description:

St. Mullins, County Carlow.

The little village of St. Mullins is situated on the River Barrow. It got it's name from Saint Moling, a monk who became Bishop of Ferns and founded an abbey here in the 7th century. It is also the start/finish of the Barrow Way walking route.

You will need to visit 5 locations in the vicinity to gain the info needed to complete your calculations for the final coordinates.

Walk to the well via the bridge at N52 29.404 W6 55.644 - Stand at the door and look inside. How many square holes in the opposite wall? Call this answer A.
Proceed back up the hill. Stop at N52 29.368 W6 55.702 - Look at the circular Ancient East sign. What is the travel time by car to Altamont Gardens? Make this answer B.
Enter the monastic site and go to N52 29.328 W6 55.657 - How many ancient water fonts can be seen? This is answer C.
Leave the site and head down the road to the river. Stand on the little bridge at N52 29.227 W6 55.608 - How many free standing stone pillars on the Barrow side of it? Note this as answer D.
Turn around and head back, stopping at N52 29.236 W6 55.623 - What year is mentioned near the end of the large stone? This is answer E.

You now have all the numbers needed to determine the final coordinates. Add them to the following:

N 52° 29.(8 x B) + A + 23
W 6° 55.(699 x D) - E - C - 93

Hope it all works out for you. Happy hunting.

The cache is a small plastic film canister. Please replace securely. BYOP.
