Geocache Description:

Meet and Greet at Copper Culture Mounds Park in Oconto, WI

Mark you calendars! August 23, 2008, from noon until 5:00 or so, there will be a Geocache Meet and Greet in Oconto, WI. More details will be posted as they come together. We have never done one of these before so please forgive us if it is not tradional. We are looking at doing a cookout/picnic. We'll bring the food and you bring your favorite beverages. Fair enough? There are several caches in the Oconto area so you can add to your cache count. There ARE new caches in the area! Some are for the event and some are just because. Be sure to check the map around the area for last minute information. All we ask is that you please RSVP (enter a "Write Note" entry in the log) if you plan to attend and let us know how many people are coming in your group.

Note 1: It has been recommended by a local cacher that if you plan to hunt some of the nearby caches you should bring some bug spray!

Note 2: The old road into the park (Mott street) has been closed due to the new highway construction. Follow Hwy 22 further west to N44 53.520 W87 54.051. There you will meet the new road into the park. Follow the signs from there.

Note 3: If you have lawn chairs you can bring for yourselves we strongly encourage that. The picnic table seats will get old quick!

Note 4: Sometime during the event we would like to have a meeting with as many cachers as possible and discuss how we can take this event to the next level. Due to the amount of new caches that popped up recently in the Oconto area, partially due to the event, we want your opinion on how to do this event next time. (i.e. different location, different time of the year, more times per year) We'll talk about this Saturday at a time agreed to by everyone.
