A small Cache within a disused Engine House between Halamanning and Millpool that was worked as early as 1794, but last worked in 1912. This is a fairly level walk but the area is prone to water-logging and can be very muddy! Wellies would be an extremely good idea!
This can be either a fairly quick Cache & Dash of approx 400ft from parking area, or a choice of 2 walks of approx 1/2 mile each.
You can park at Millpool (limited parking at side of road at N50.07.470 and W005.23.814) and walk along the Public Bridleway for 1/2 mile, or drive along to the clearing which is approx 400ft from the Cache itself (N50.07.987 and W005.24.024). However, if you do drive, beware of pot-holes! Either way, make sure to turn right at Croft Gothal!
Alternatively you can walk from Halamanning (parking at N50.07.737 and W005.24.680) taking the tarmac road down past the Public Bridleway No. 45 sign. Again this is approx 1/2 mile.
We would not recommend approaching this Cache from Relubbus as the path is completely water-logged at times.
