Geocache Description:

Chain Lake Watershed # 4

Chain Lake Watershed
The need for a safe, reliable water supply was crucial after many infectious epidemics in Halifax. In 1844, civic-minded businessmen formed the Halifax Water Company. Civil Engineer Charles Fairbanks was hired to survey the lakes around the town and his plans were used by New York engineer John Jarvis to propose the Long Lake-Chain Lakes water supply.
Chain Lake & Long Lake watersheds were identified to supply the water.
There is a short intense bushwack to reach the cache. The remments of the last ice age make this loction interesting and should be approached with caution. The cache is an ammo can under a large table like rock balanced on two smaller rocks not far from a small rock face.
The cache when placed had a Tim's + for a FTF along with the usual swag.
