Geocache Description:

The terrain is easy and flat.
PLEASE NOTE THE COORDINATES FOR CLIMPING GAP - BALIFFSCOURT ARE N50 47.982 W000 34.600. (These were shown incorrectly)

The coordinates given above are NOT where the cache is placed but for the recommended car parking only. The Climping Gap - Bonus cache can be found by collecting the clues from the caches in the Climping Gap series and placing them in the following order.

N50 4A.BCD W000 EF.GHJ

These clues are duplicated in some of the caches.

Climping Gap is a circular walk of 4.23 miles and should take about 2.5 hours to complete. The terrain is mixed with some parts easy going but other areas more taxing especially along the beach. Bikes are not recommended nor are baby buggies. Dogs are allowed but please keep them under control.

The walk passes through areas of SSSI (Site of Special Scientific Interest) SNCI (Site of Nature Conservation Importance) and LNR ( Local Nature Reserve) so please respect your surroundings.

Wildlife and flora and fauna to look out for include
Oystercatchers
Mermaids Purse
Ringed Plovers
Painted Ladys
Sand Catchflys
Common Lizards
Sea Kale
Marram Grass

The walk consists of 13 traditional caches with 1 bonus to find so please remember to collect the clues. Most are large micros which need to be screwed back tightly but please don't over-do it. There are 3 small caches but you please bring a pen or pencil with you. The paths can become muddy in the winter or after heavy rain so walking boots are recommended. At the time of placing the caches the footpaths were generally good.

There is parking available at N50° 48.116 W000° 32.594 which is a pay and display car park.
At the time of placing the caches the cost of parking there was £3.15 for 3 hours. Unfortunately there isn't any where else nearby to park. To access the car park go down Ferry Road from the A259 and follow the signs for the Littlehampton golf course. Continue past the golf course down a single track road and you will come to the car park. There are toilet facilities during the day.

We hope you enjoy the walk.
