Generally less than 1/4 inch in size, the mosquito has six long
legs, a pair of wings, and a sharp, thin proboscis that can cut
through skin and suck out blood. The male mosquito eats plant juice
and, unlike the female, does not bite human beings. Mosquitoes are
usually found near bodies of water in warm climates.
