Geocache Description:

Note: Posting pictures is encouraged, but please don't include more of the subjects below.

Stroll up and down the historic and picturesque Downtown Crystal Lake, and collect the coordinates for this small cache as you go. The posted coordinates mark the location of the Witte Building on Main Street. That is where your walking tour begins.

It's recommended (but not required) to print out this Self-guided Walking Tour as a background reference for the various buildings you will see. (If that site is too busy, you might try this link.) If you don't use that brochure, then you should at least familiarize yourself with the route as indicated on this map taken from the Walking Tour brochure. As of the publication of this cache, the brochure was out of print. However, a limited number of home-brewed, hard copies of the brochure may be obtained from the businesses at the following addresses:
  • 77 E. Woodstock Street
  • 50 N. Williams Street
  • 53 N. Williams Street

Seeking this cache may take some time, so plan on seeking it on a pleasant day so as to allow time to enjoy the numerous sights of Downtown Crystal Lake.

This cache is part of the “Downtown / Main Street USA" series. Please visit the cache that started it all - Downtown / Main Street USA: Edison, NJ. Here you will find the latest count of caches in the series and find out how you can add your own.
