Geocache Description:

Throw on your hiking boots and pack a snack. I know you guys like lots of caches along a route but too bad. Remember, no one is forcing you to do this...

We saw Anthony's Pond as just a little blip on the GPS as we were hiking the A.T. There are trails that lead to the pond, which is a wildlife management area, but what we did was bushwhack for a little over 1/4 mile through all sorts of flora and fauna (mostly pricker bushes of some sort). I'm sure there are better ways to get there and if you find one be sure to share it with anyone else that may like to look for this cache. The round trip for us today was 7 miles but if we knew what we were doing it would've most likely only have been 6.

The cache is a tricky one...sorry, it's the only one I had on me at the time. I wasn't planning on placing one today but the spot had to be recognized somehow. Refer to the picture of the pond. If you can find the same spot as what is pictured you'll be just about on top of it. Do your best to jam the logbook back in when you're done (assuming you find it). BYOP, no room for any trades either.

Update: 1-11-09 - cache is no longer tricky. Plenty of room for trading TB's and there's a brand new (dry) log to sign. This one's more about the hike anyway. This one is now winter friendly as we placed it after a snowstorm in a place with very little snow.
