[FI] Kätkö sijaitsee Nokian ja Pirkkalan rajamailla, Rajaniemellä sijaitsevalla levähdysalueella. Paikalle pääsee parhaiten ajamalla alueella sijaitsevan kahvilan parkkialueelle koordinaatteihin N61 28.200 E023 35.750 ja kulkemalla jalkaisin moottoritien ali pyörätietä pitkin.
Vanha Rajasalmen silta valmistui vuonna 1973, ja on Tampereen läntisen kehätien vanhin osa. Kokonaisuudessaan läntinen kehätie valmistui 1970- ja 1980-luvun vaihteen tienoilla. Tien varteen, Rajasalmen sillan kupeeseen perustettiin levähdysalue kahviloineen palvelemaan ohikulkijoita. Levähdysalue laajeni myöhemmin myös tien toiselle puolelle.
Aika kuitenkin muuttui ja tien liikenne lisääntyi huomattavasti. Tiellä kulkijat saivat ajoittain kärsiä pahoistakin ruuhkista. Niinpä vuonna 2003 käynnistyi viisivuotinen rakennushanke, jolla täydennetään tie kaupunkimoottoritieksi Kuljun moottoritieltä Ylöjärvelle. Hanke on siis valmistumassa tämän vuoden 2008 syksyllä. Hankkeen aikana on valmistunut 300 metriä pitkä Rajaniemen vesistösilta vanhan sillan viereen. Tällöin vanha tieosuus ja Rajasalmen silta jäivät vain kevyen liikenteen ja paikallisliikenteen käyttöön, joten liikenne vanhalla tieosuudella väheni oleellisesti. Satunnaisten tielläkulkijoitten on vaikea huomata levähdysalue sekä löytää reitti moottoritieltä sinne.
Viihtyisä levähdysalue on kuitenkin käytössä edelleen, joskin ränsistymisen merkkejä on jo näkyvissä. Alueella on runsaasti leveitä polkuja sekä muutama piknik-pöytä. Niemen kärjessä parkkialueen puolella on myös kivistä rakennettu nuotiopaikka. Polttopuita ei ole saatavilla.

[EN] The cache is located around the border between Nokia and Pirkkala municipalities, at the Rajaniemi rest area. Location is best reached by driving to the nearby cafe parking lot at N61 28.200 E023 35.750 and walking under the motorway using the bike path.
Old Rajasalmi bridge was completed in 1973 and it is the oldest part of the Tampere western bypass. The western bypass was completely completed between the 70's and 80's. A resting area with cafes was built by the road to serve passing by travellers. Later the resting area was expanded to the other side of the road.
However, times changed and traffic was significantly increased. At times there was heavy congestion which lead to a five-year building project that started in 2003. The aim of the project was to build a motorway from Kulju interchange to Ylöjärvi. The Project was finished in autumn 2008. Alongside the project the 300 metre long Rajaniemi bridge was built, next to the old bridge that is currently used by local residents and pedestrians. It is rather hard for bypassers to even note the rest area, let alone find a way there from the motorway.
The pleasant resting area is still, however, in use even though some signs of detoriation are already visible. The area has lots of wide paths and a couple of picnic-tables. At the tip of the peninsula there's also a bonfire site, but no firewood is available.
