I found this trail while looking for a short hike good for the young kids and old dogs. When we were leaving after one trip, my son asked me what the trail was called. Thinking that “Section 7 of the CCT” might sound a little dry, I looked up at a nearby street sign for inspiration. Hence we know this walk as Raccoon Ridge. (We have yet to see a raccoon.)
There is a new (2019) grass parking lot off Lawyers Road (see additional waypoint). The trail is dirt and steep in some places. During periods of heavy rainfall crossing the stream can be very difficult—please use caution. Round trip is about a mile. Suitable for adventurous youngsters.
At stage 1, find number at top right of sign, call it X. S2 North decimal coords 3480/X. S2 West decimal coords 4260/X.

NOTICE: This cache was approved by the Fairfax County Park Authority, and adheres to their guidelines for cache placement.
