Geocache Description:

Les coordinats présenté ne SONT PAS les coordinats actuel du cache, c’est quand-même un bel endroit pout stationner votre voiture. On peut continuer a pied, le cache est situé +-500m du parking.

Le cache se trouve dans le centre de l’Armagnac dans le département du Gers en France. L'Armagnac (en occitan gascon Armanhac) est une ancienne province au cœur de la Gascogne, principalement dans le département français du Gers et l'Est des Landes. Son nom provient d'un domaine gallo-romain. Sa ville principale et capitale historique est Auch. Centré sur la moyenne vallée de la Baïse, l'Armagnac est distribué sur un axe est-ouest à hauteur d'Eauze et d'Auch. Elle est mondialement connue pour sa production d'eau-de-vie portant son nom.

En plus le cache se trouve très proche du méridien d’origine de Greenwich. Si les latitudes peuvent être mesurées à partir de l'équateur, il n'existe pas de référence naturelle équivalente pour fixer l'origine des longitudes. En géographie un méridien est un demi grand cercle imaginaire tracé sur le globe terrestre reliant les pôles. Tous les points de la Terre situés sur un même méridien ont la même longitude. On parle également d'arc de méridien entre deux latitudes. Essayé une fois de trouver ce méridien d’origine, c’est drôle de voir tous ces zéros sur votre GPS. The cache is hidden in the center of the Armagnac province in the department Gers in France. The hilly county of Armagnac (Occitan: Armanhac) in the foothills of the Pyrenées, between the Adour and Garonne rivers is a historic comté of the Duchy of Gascony (Gascogne), established in 601 in the southwest of Aquitaine (now France). It is in a region in southwestern France, including parts of the Gers, Landes, and Lot-et-Garonne departments. Once an important countship, it reached its greatest power and extent during the 14th and 15th centuries. The area is watered by several small rivers that descend from the Lannemezan plateau; the Gers River is the largest of these. The region, predominantly agricultural, is noted for its Armagnac brandy, the oldest eau-de-vie in France.

The cache is also located very close to the Greenwich Prime Meridian that divides the Earth into the Eastern and Western Hemispheres. The Prime Meridian is the meridian (line of longitude) at which longitude is defined to be 0°.
