Geocache Description:

Due to the hiding place being cleared this cache is now a bison tube.

Rosemont Plantation is famous as the boyhood home of Jefferson Davis, the president of the Confederacy. It was settled by his parents, Samuel and Jane Davis in 1810 and the Davis family lived here for nearly 100 years. The Davis Family Cemetery is located near the plantation house.

The home has been restored to the condition of Jefferson Davis, tenancy and is open for tours. It is open from 10:00AM to 4:00PM, Tuesday - Saturday. This cache has been placed with the permission of the management. There is a fee for the tour. However, the cache can be reached from outside the fence so it is available at anytime and you do not need to pay to log the cache.
