The State Legislature describes
township government as the one that most efficiently provides
services in areas developed for agricultural, open space, and rural
residential purposes. Stillwater Township is considered an "urban"
township, and as such is able to exercise a number of municipal
powers, including regulatory and bonding authority.
The Township is composed of a Town Board, Planning Commission and
Park Committee.
