One day at a Chinese restaurant, I had a couple of chopsticks to entertain me while I was waiting. I could arrange them into a variety of shapes, letters or make a teepee to hide a geocache. In grammar school, we played a softball variation where there are only seven innings and the bases are run in a bowtie pattern (2nd, 1st, 3rd, then Home). I can make that shape as well. While reading the menu, I noticed that some Chinese characters look like a pound sign (#). I arranged my chopsticks into a similar pattern. It's a nice idea but something is missing...
I remember dining at a Fondue restaurant next to a comic book store with a moose theme. Each person was given a pair of fondue sticks with handles of a specific color to identify which food belonged to which person. I suppose it reduces the confusion and prevents arguments around the pot of boiling oil.
Combine the two ideas together and the result is a nice puzzle with colored chopsticks. Instead of using the same old standard RGB and CMY computer colors, this puzzle will use the good old school rainbow colors - ROY G BIV! I tweaked the colors to make them more distinct, using the pigment variations. Just compare the chopstick colors to the rainbow below:
