The current border of Budapest exists since 1st January 1950. The government decided to attach some neighboring village and since then the calculated geometrical center point of Budapest is close to this cache.
It’s easy to get there and park by car or if you like to come with public transport, the bus Nr. 9 is starting from the city of Budapest, Deak Ferenc square.
When you are here take a walk in the Tchaikovsky park and have a look at the Firefighter’s Museum. The museum was founded in 1955, and its buliding is a typical socialistic one, but inside there are ~4300 objects, ~3000 documents and ~120.000 photos about the past.

Kobánya-Óhegyen, a Martinovics téren van Budapest hivatalosan nyilvántartott mértani középpontja.
Kobánya keleti határa valamikor azonos volt a fováros határával, csak 1950-ben, Nagy-Budapest létrejöttekor lett belso kerület. Ekkor került a Martinovics térre a város mértani középpontja.
