Las Palmas trail (1)
This cache is ideal for those wanting a
cityscape view of
Las Palmas. The cache is located just off a quiet road between
Isleta (Las
Palmas) and Casas de las Coloradas. It offers one of the best
views of Playa de
las Canteras, the Port and the rugged Gran Canarian coastline.
Because of the
nature and northerly position the city occupies, Las Palmas can be
overcast and
cloudy so it is best to attempt this cache when the weather is
clear and fine.
By equal measure, the cache site is particularly exposed so do
ensure adequate
protection from the elements: sun block, a hat and ear
plugs/cotton wool are
recommended.

Getting to the cache
site...
The normal way: tap in the coordinates
and go-find!
From Playa de las Canteras walk east
along the
beach and continue along the coastal path until the final street
(Calle Coronel
Rocha). Turn inland and follow road signs for
Coloradas.
From the Port/Intercambiador de Santa
Catalina
catch the number ‘41’ local bus (Guaguas Municipales) and head to
Coloradas. You
can either get off in the village and backtrack towards Las Palmas
or get off
half way up the hill.
