The cache is a rubbermaid box with rocks stacked neatly around to hide it completely from view. It is at the base of a small maple shrub, otherwise in an open area. If you visit it, be sure to re-hide it the same way so that it cannot be found by non-geocachers and doesn't get wet. Perhaps bring a new zip-loc freezer bag for the inner contents because they develop holes with repeated opening.
DO NOT PUT FOOD ITEMS IN THE CACHE. Animals will destroy any cache whose smell intrigues them.
Initial cache contents are:
- Reflector / flashing LED taillight clip-on
- Handheld tetris game
- Plush toy
- Cassette adapter for using a walkman with a car stereo
- Egg cup + spoon
- Brass dinner bell
- Plastic looney tunes characters
- Bird christmas tree ornament
- Spool of black thread and small scissors
along with the usual cache log and pencils of course. Help yourself to something, leave something else as you see fit.
Now, about getting there: There are a couple of road approcaches that go within a quarter of a mile, but they tend to be in rough shape, don't get stuck. A typical 4WD vehicle would be fine. Otherwise don't worry, just be prepared to hike about 1.5km further.
Depending how you get there, it may be obvious, but be sure to check out N46° 21.169' W83° 32.242'. Also, there is a general store that you should see -- a real general store, not a tourist gimmick -- at N46° 18.170' W83° 32.987'. This is significant because you can buy the topo map there, if you are stumped.
Finally, one last detail -- the Voyageur Trail (white blazes) passes about 60m west of the cache site.
