Hakalanniemi is the most essential hiking area of the The Gulf
of Vanhakaupunki.In the forest of Hakala you may become acquainted
with different kind of trees originating from all over the world by
going around the tree path. There are some moist black alder groves
by the coast of Hakalanniemi. You may see Hakalanniemi as a special
place for birds. The lesser spotted woodpecker shrills by the coast
and the concert of nightingales is a typical element of the spring
evenings over there. You can watch sea birds and wading birds from
the bird towers.
