As near as I can tell, the official name of this body of water is
in fact "Duck Pond" (replete with capital letters), as opposed to
something like "the duck pond." Evidence of this can be
found on page 5 of
a recent city newsletter.
A while back, the banks along a creek flowing into Duck Pond
eroded, turning Duck Pond into what the city described as "a mud
pit" that polluted a nearby lake. Fortunately, the city recently
dredged Duck Pond so you can enjoy it in its newfound pristine
splendor.
My interest in Duck Pond stems from the fact that I grew up
about half a mile away from it. When I was a toddler, I fell into
Duck Pond and was rescued by my mom -- a no doubt highly unpleasant
experience for her.
This probably qualifies as a "park and grab," so watch out for
members of the public. Please replace the cache exactly as found.
Original contents of the cache include various trinkets, some of
them duck-related. Thank you to Bam2 and BatManuel for helping me
find the hiding spot.
Don't forget to say hi to the ducks!
