Geocache Description:

A very pleasant countryside walk between Botley and Burridge in Hampshire

I have only recently discovered this location despite having lived in this area all my life. Having also recently acquired a dog the family have been looking for new areas to explore so we took the plunge one day and followed the 'Public Footpath' signs and our noses. We enjoyed it so much we decided that this should be the location for our first Cache.

The route consists of an 'out' leg followed by a circular section before returning back to the original starting point. It is very muddy in places during the wetter times of the year and boots are strongly advised. Be warned also that depending on what way round you choose to do the circular section, will depend on whether you have to cross a stream in order to get to the cache. If you do the circular route you will have no choice. It is not suitable for buggies etc and there may be cows in the fields. I recorded the coordinates in the winter and so I would expect the GPS signal to bounce around a bit in the summer.

The start of the route is at N50°53.933 W001°15.138 ('Along Ridge Lane') where there is also space for a couple of cars. There is parking at N50°54.103 W001°15.095 which leaves a short walk along a busy road to get to the footpath/bridleway ('Ridge Lane') which should then be followed a short way to get to the start of the main route itself. Hint: Depositing any family at the start of 'Ridge Lane' avoids them having to walk the road!
