Geocache Description:

This cache is off of a road developed from a Native American trail between St. Francis, Kansas and Haigler, Nebraska. The road can be a bit hairy in places, especially if you're not used to driving on gravel roads but go slowly and you should be fine.

You are looking for a lavendar translucent plastic box about 6x6x3 inches. My 8 year old son helped hide it. We decided to hide it here after scouting out the area and learning a bit about the history of it. The map that comes up on MapBlast is deceiving. You can literally drive up to this cache. There are a few ways you can reach it, from either Highway 27 or Highway 34. The easiest way is to take the entry off of Highway 27 in Kansas. The road is marked with a sign for Devil's Gap and 3 Corners but you have to look closely for it as it's set a ways back from the road and is starting to fade. When you get to the dead end, take a right and continue to follow the signs (or just follow your GPS!) Have fun!

Included in the cache are:

  • Logbook, pen and instructions
  • Mini Find A Word book
  • Bookmark
  • 3 Colorado lottery tickets
  • 3 Kansas lottery tickets
  • Miniature Bee figurine
  • Kansas camera photo keychain (neat)
  • Sacajewa coin (my trademark)
  • Postcards
  • Hitch hiker
  • Brochures about the area and St.Francis
Please feel free to take a brochure and venture to the driving tour in St. Francis. Or, continue to travel up the road and vist 3 Corners. I've listed it as a Virtual Cache in Colorado under Three Corners Virtual Cache. There is a log book there though I don't know who takes care of the site. Be on the lookout for deer and other wildlife. When me and my boys scouted out the area the first time we disturbed a doe escaping the heat in the shadows of the cliff! Neat. Happy caching!
