Spokane’s first WWFM will be held at Manito
Park in the grassy picnic area near the main entrance off South
Grand Blvd & 18th Ave. The event begins
sharply at 10:00 am, so plan to arrive early as parking may fill up
quickly (but there is ample parking on nearby
streets).
This flash mob is themed “Frozen in Time”,
as Geocachers will stand frozen in place at a precise time. A
whistle will blow when folks are to freeze, and another one after
two minutes to signal the thaw out. When the first whistle
blows, you must stop everything, even if you are talking to a
muggle, chugging some coffee, or bending over the bucket.
Afterwards, a group photograph will be taken. Participants
will grab a piece of paper from ground zero, sign it, and toss into
the bucket – this is the official log. The log may be signed
at any time between 10:00 and 10:15 (except when you are frozen).
Lookout Lisa (of Cache-Advance) has generously donated a really
nice prize, so be sure to toss your name into the log bucket and
you'll be entered into the drawing!
The schedule:
9:45 Park and
walk to the designated area. A RED flag will be placed at Ground Zero next to the
log bucket.
10:00 The event
begins.
10:05 The first whistle
blows. You freeze.
10:07 The second
whistle blows. You thaw.
10:10 The group photo
is taken. Hurry and smile!
10:13 Brunch is served.
You eat it in 60 seconds or less.
10:14 The Winning Prize is
drawn from the bucket!
10:15 The event ends and the
log bucket is sealed.
After the Flash Mob Event, you are welcome
to go caching on the south hill with other Geocachers, hang out and
check out the lilacs, or whatever your bloomin' heart
desires. T o see a link to a similar type of event check out
the "Frozen Grand Central" YouTube listing on Dream Cache R's post
below. Hope to see you there!
P.S. This event will likely draw interest
from muggles, so Geocaching pamphlets will be available to
share.
