Geocache Description:

Vuonna 1889 perustettu Korkeasaaren eläintarha on yksi maamme suosituimmista matkailukohteista yli 500 000 vuosittaisella kävijällään. Saareen pääsee kulkemaan hienosti julkisilla kulkuvälineillä joko Mustikkamaan kautta tai kesäaikaan vesibussilla sekä Kauppatorilta että Hakaniemestä.

Huom! Saareen on luonnollisesti pääsymaksu, joka on tällä hetkellä aikuisilta 7 euroa.

Korkeasaari Zoo was established already in 1889. Nowadays it´s one of the most popular tourist attractions in Finland with more than 500 000 visitors per year. It´s easy to get there with public transport via Mustikkamaa island all year round, and during the summertime by ferries leaving both from Kauppatori and Hakaniemi.

Notice that there is naturally an entrance fee to the zoo, wich is currenly 7 euros for adults. Kids and other special groups (like students etc.) pay less.

The cache container and logbook were renewed 2.5.2009, the new container has no space for travel bugs or trade items.
