We have placed this cache in memory of our son. This cache is the first one in an upcoming series about Alex and how he could put a smile on anyone’s face. Alex was a master at telling stories even at an early age. Once he went on a field trip with his second grade class to the Kenosha Firehouse. He was all excited to see the trucks and how the fireman lived. Sometime during the trip Alex ran into a Kenosha Police Officer and was admiring the Officer’s weapon. Then it started – he could no longer contain himself… He proceeded to tell the Officer a story that only resided in his vast imagination. He said that his father also owned a gun and that I’d take it out and would chase his mother down the street with it. Alex was so believable that the Officer became concerned and spoke to the teacher. The teacher, knowing Alex’s hidden talents, defused the whole situation. The next morning when I walked Alex to school his teacher was waiting for me at the front door. She told me this story in front of all of the other parents dropping off their kids. It turns out Alex got a lecture from the Officer about lying and I got to hear everyone laugh about it. I have to admit at the time I wasn’t smiling, but now I find it hard not to burst into laughter when I think about it. This Cache is an easy drive up and grab and is wheelchair accessible. It is hidden in my front yard so be respectful to my neighbors and my property. The ditch is steep in areas and can be slippery when wet, please be careful. If you can not negotiate the ditch safely you are welcome to park in our drive at 4320 122nd Street and approach from the north to avoid it all together.
