Éste es el tercero de los tesoros de la serie
que hace referencia a la la denominación de origen de
Utiel-Requena. La uva tempranillo es la
segunda variedad en extensión cultivada dentro de la zona y a
triplicado su presencia en la última década.
This is the third of the series of caches that makes
reference to the Utiel-Requena wine region. The "tempranillo"
grape is the second variety for its presence in the zone. During
the last decade it has tripled its presence in the region.
El tesoro se encuentra en el cañón del río
Magro, aguas arriba de Hortunas de Arriba, cerca de un sendero
de pequeño recorrido abandonado. Para llegar a Hortunas se
puede hacer desde la A3 por la salida de Requena en dirección
a Albecete-Almansa. En Requena, seguir por la N-332 dirección
a Albacete, e inmediatamente tras pasar la aldea de El Pontón
hay que tomar la N-330 en dirección a Almansa. Unos 10 km más
adelante hay que salir en "La Portera" para continuar por la
CV-429 en dirección a Yátova, a los pocos kms llegaremos a
Hortunas. Hay que atravesar el núcleo para llegar al campo de
fútbol donde se puede dejar el coche.
The cache is in the Magro river canyon, upstream of Hortunas
de Arriba, near an abandoned short length trailpath. To get to
Hortunas, you may leave the A3 highway in Requena direction
Albacete-Almansa. At Requena, take N-332 towards Albacete, and soon
after passing "El Pontón" turn left into N-330 to Almansa. About 10
km later leave the road at "La Portera" and continue in CV-429,
direction Yátova, for a few more kms. Turn left and cross Hortunas
until you get to the soccer field where you may park the
car.
Atraviesa el río y, en seguida, el camino gira a
la izquierda, verás algunas marcas blancas y amarillas de un
antiguo sendero PR. Hay que cruzar un viñedo donde el camino
ha desaparecido y tras vadear un pequeño riachuelo que desagua
en el Magro llegarás a la zona más encañonada. Dependiendo del
caudal del río podrás seguir por la orilla hasta llegar al
árbol caído o tendrás que desviarte y ganar cota siguiendo las
marcas del PR. Tras sortear las raíces del árbol caído
llegarás a la Fuente del Pino. Debes de seguir unos pocos
metros más y desviarte por un sendero a la derecha que te
llevará a la atalaya donde está escondido el tesoro tras una
ascensión de unas decenas de metros. El tesoro está en un
pequeño abrigo, a simple vista, si llegas hasta aquí te
mereces el tesoro, no hay nada que buscar.
Cross the river. Soon, the trail turns left, you will see
some yellow and white marks of an old short length path. Cross the
vineyard where the trail dissapears, then wade a small stream that
flows to the Magro river and you will get to the beginning of the
canyon. Depending on the river flow you may continue until the
fallen tree by the river margin or you will have to gain height
following the marks of the old path. After jumping over the roots
of the fallen tree you will get to the Pine Tree Fountain.
You have to continue a few more meters and then
divert to the right by a small trail that will bring you to
the farallon where the cache is hidden after an ascent of a
few tens of meters. The cache is placed in a rock shelter, in
plain view, if you get up to here, you deserve getting to the
cache withouth any more looking
around.
