K8 has
found a great place for a picnic but has forgotten where.
Fortunately, being a good little Gretel, she marked her way
with a series of objects, observations and
waypoints.
To find
the picnic spot, start at the above co-ords and follow the
waypoints along this Northwest cycle/footpath (approx 12 klms).
Each waypoint is near street access for those preferring to use the
Geo-vehicle.
At each
waypoint you will be given the opportunity to earn points by
either finding an object, making an observation or performing
a task. You will not be required to do anything obscene,
illegal or dangerous.
This is
not a speed race, but a test of your observation, intuition and
initiative, so it won’t matter if you arrive at a waypoint at the
same time as other cachers.
The
co-ords to the first waypoint will be placed at the above co-ords
at 8.30am and all scavenger items and observations must be
lodged with K8’n’Co, at the picnic site by 12.30pm, so there
is plenty of time to stagger starts and complete the course, even
by foot.
For
those who haven’t already done them, there are a heap of
caches along the way.
Please note: points for an object will
only be awarded once (ie the waypoint may say: “K8 loves to wear a
flower in her hair. Bring her a yellow flower and she will reward
you with 5 points”. Bring two or more flowers and
you will still only get 5 points).
Please
consider other cachers and only take 1 item where required and
leave Waypoints as you find them.
You will
also need to carry pen and paper.
The
winner will be the
cacher (or team) acquiring the most points.
The
prize will be the
co-ords to a celebratory cache, hidden in the area and a 15 minute
head start, before the co-ords are released to everyone
else.

The picnic area has a great playground,
bbqs, picnic shelters and toilets, but please bring extra chairs if
possible and your picnic hamper and bevies of
course.
