Cup of Joe (Puzzle Edition) - Maple Grove! Event Cache

This cache has been archived.

FSU*Noles: Alright, time to officially shut 'er down, definitely a sad moment. Thanks again everyone for making this such a fun and successful time - we'll see if I get talked into doing it again. The trick will be, how do you make it bigger and better? QIFT and I are kicking around some ideas, things like:

-Definitely at a park, to accomodate the crowd and to allow caching-related activities to take place
-Definitely a longer event, to have more fun!
-The usual potluck, to feed the hungry hordes
-"Keynote" presentations by puzzlers, about their caches or puzzles in general?
-Having a new multi-part nasty puzzle or two hidden at the park, published the morning of the event
-Surprise puzzles in the packet, not listed on the page? (Crimson, anyone?)
-Gotta find a better way to do the door prizes. I like the KB method, but KB might not have. :) Maybe a nice BIG grand prize to give away, or hand the door prizes to random pre-selected "official signup sheet" numbers as people sign in.
-Maybe have a bronze-cast life-sized statue of pfalstad dedicated at the park that day, as the finest puzzler of all time.

Dunno, I'm sure there are plenty of ideas, we'll see what shakes out a year from now. Thanks again, everyone!!

Geocache Description:

THANKS, EVERYONE!!

Wow, what an unbelievable morning - THANKS everyone for making this Event such a fun, successful time. Thanks to you, this was the largest caching event ever held in Minnesota! We had 89 different cachers sign the logsheets, and 116 people in attendence...can you believe it? Everyone fit into Panera just fine, and they even thanked ME (how backwards is that?) when it was all said and done!

BCS1026 won the $20 gift card, while Manatee Mamma, Geo Siren, firstbass, withoutapaddle, and choromanskilynn all walked off with $10 gift cards. An unidentified horde of cachers blew through the rest of the door prizes, which consisted of two sweet ammo cans (one wicked yellow one with question marks painted on it!), seven geocoins, handfuls of unactivated TB tags, tb buddy tags, and other assorted cache containers.

Huge, HUGE thanks to Quilting is fun too, Good-Girl, everyone who donated door prizes, and the 22 puzzle cachers who donated their solutions! Without their time and efforts, this Event never could have happened - thanks everyone, y'all are the best!

More than one cacher commented that we should do this again. To that I say...well, we'll see. :) I hope y'all had fun and enjoyed yourselves, and as always, it was great to spend time with friends old and new alike. The original Event details are unchanged below, for historical purposes. Thanks again everyone, hope to see y'all again soon!!

It's time for another Cup of Joe!

Everyone is invited to a morning of caffeine, fun, and fellowship in Maple Grove. This Event will be held at:

Panera Bread
7778 Main Street North
Maple Grove, MN 55369
(763) 416-0436

Saturday, May 17th
8:30-10:30 a.m.

* Door Prize drawings at 10:00 *

Fresh baked goods and tasty treats will be available, but no purchase is required for attendence. Free Wi-Fi and a limited number of power outlets are available to everyone. Special thanks to Judy for allowing us to gather at her store!

Panera has asked for a rough headcount a few days before the Event. Please log a "Will Attend" note if you can make it, so I can let them know how many people to expect...thanks, and hope to see ya there!

In addition to the usual geo-swag doorprizes and giveaways, a few of your local puzzlers have donated solutions to some of their Puzzle Caches. All attendees will receive a packet that contains puzzle solutions and coordinates for the following list of caches:
Each packet will have strong hints or giveaways in the first part, for those who want to work the puzzles out on their own - and the second part will have final solved coords, for those who don't. :) This list may change as the Event gets closer, so keep an eye on this page if you're interested. HUGE thanks again to the cache owners for their donations, I appreciate it!
