As many local cachers know, the legend of Knowlsey, the lonely bison has spread far and wide. A lesser known tale in these parts, is a no less tragic - the story of Jeff, the agoraphobic seagull.
Now, many people have never heard of agoraphobia, so to explain - it's esentially a fear of open or public places.
This is not a fun thing to experience - so you can imagine how it would be for a seagull - the majestic flying rat of the sky and shore.
Jeff was not always afraid of going out. Like most other gulls, he loved to soar high in the sky, poop on lesser beings far below - and boy, did he love eating garbage!
Sadly, as Jeff got older, he felt less and less comfortable flying. He wouldn't go as far from home, or as high. Eventually, he stopped flying altogether. Even when his friends would tell him about some particularly delicious mystery trash on the beach, Jeff couldn't be bothered to go.
These days, you can still find Jeff - but you have to look hard. He lives in a small hollow knot in a tree, about 4 feet off of the ground. He is smaller than a film canister and is duct taped - which likely doesn't help his fears...
