Geocache Description:

We are proud and pleased to announce the safe arrival of the Mega Event's baby sister!

Let’s go Mega camping in Ripon will be held just outside of Ripon, on the edge of some of the most stunning countryside in North Yorkshire. It only 12.5 miles from Harrogate, and about 15 mins by the most direct route, (although we all know cachers do not do direct routes – caches get in the way!)

This campsite is the closest to Harrogate we could find that could accommodate us and not cost the earth. I am sure there will be lots of people able to offer lifts to the Mega event itself, and out caching for those that do not drive. Camping events generally work that way!!

Woodhouse Farm Caravan Park is a 56 acre site, with loads of great facilities to amuse you when you’re not hunting for Tupperware.
There is a bar / restaurant, 2 well stocked course fishing lakes, 2 good sized shower blocks, ample washing up facilities, a games room, a small shop and a kids playground.

Although a little on the bare side for local caches at the moment, this will soon be rectified!!

Of course there will be a big BBQ on the Saturday evening which will be open to day visitors as well as those camping.

Booking Conditions Have Changed
Due to the sheer number of us, the Campsite are now asking everyone to book with them directly.
Please follow the link above to their website, and fill in the Booking Form, mentioning you are with the Geocachers.

The Tariff for a 6 person pitch starts from £14 per night, and a £20 deposit when booking is required if you are taking a pitch with electric hookup.
Please also take the time to read the Campsite's rules. The owners are understandably concerned about such a large group making a lot of noise past 10pm. Please do not give Geocachers a bad name by breaking the site rules.

Hog Roast

On Saturday night around 7pm we will be providing a hog roast... !!!
The Hog Roast will be supplied by a local farmer who provides these facilities professionally.
This is not just a pork sandwich, you will be provided with a plate, utencils, plate of pork (plenty of), apple sauce, crackling, stuffing oh and a bread roll as a side dish. There will be a selection of Salad bowls also provided

In order to get the cost of £6 per head this has been heavily subsidised by the Mega Event Committee !

COSTS

- Adults (12+) £6 per head
- Children (5-12) £3.50 per head (nb they will get a sausage sandwich with salad not a hog roast portion
- Small ones (under 5) - Free !!!

If you would like an alternative meal for people not wishing to eat pork for any reason, e.g. other dietry needs, we are providing a vegitarian lasagna, but please contact me if you require other alternatives

-Full name
-caching name
-number of adults
-number of children

Orders will still be open up to a couple of days before the event. We will be able to cope with a handful of people on the night... but that I can not guarantee, so therefore please pre-book

We would appreciate cheques to be forwarded to the address supplied in the confirmation email or you can pay cash on the night !

We appologise for not taking paypal but we dont want to incur charges.
