Geocache Description:

The start of this cache trilogy is an approximate 5-7 minute walk from the main train station in Leicester. You can complete this as a cache in it’s own right or, if you find all three caches you will be able to find the coordinates for the bonus cache ‘Victoria Race Park’ which is situated at the end of New Walk.

New Walk is a grade II listed conservation area. The walkway, home to a variety of wildlife, extends from the city centre right through to Victoria Park originally a race course. The third cache in this trilogy is situated within the oval, an attractive green area close to University Road and Victoria Park where, if you wish, you can go on to find the bonus cache linked to this trilogy.

An interesting quote about New Walk taken from "History in Leicester" by Colin D.B. Ellis M.C., M.A., F.S.A. (1948)

“There is no doubt that a Roman road (the "Gartree Road") ran from Leicester up the New Walk and the Evington footpath and through to Great and Little Stretton to Medbourne where there was a large villa”
