Geocache Description:

Bring your own pen for this one.

What was once “a tiny store-front-diner kind of place” who “defiantly and triumphantly” displayed a big blue Grade C health rating and served “some of the best barbecue ever created on this planet” has now disappeared from Concord. (Info from Searching for the Dixie Barbecue)

From its tiny store front diner to the café beside the courthouse to its last home, the Red Pig served lots and lots of people…including President Bush!

President George W. Bush heard about desserts at the Red Pig when he visited Concord. He missed an appointment to stop by for a taste of Texas sheet cake or coconut cream pie but sent a policeman to retrieve some treats. A photo once displayed at the Red Pig captures Bush and Robin Hayes supping on the sweets aboard Air Force One.

Lots of folks sure do wish the Red Pig would come home again.
