Le bourg s'enroule autour de l'église romane de Saint-Geniès, qui conserve à la croisée du transept une coupole à lanternon sur pendentifs. Dans la chapelle Nord, une des dalles funéraires datée de 1134 serait celle de Raymond de Turenne (mort en 1122). Aux alentours : château de Chabannes : agréable ensemble du XVè siècle, modifié au XVIIè - Valeyrac : joli hameau au creux d'un vallon, lavoir au voisinage, grange à pignons en torchis, etc.
La cache se trouve tout près du monument. Elle est cylindrique de 5cm de rayon pour 6cm de hauteur environ. Elle contient initialement le log book et une boule. Il est possible d'y accéder soit à pied depuis le village, soit en laissant la voiture à la position PK 1.
