Difficulty 3. This is a 7 mile round trip on snowshoes or XC skis in the
winter, 5-8 miles round trip in the summer. The road may be closed by the
park service at any time without warning during the winter. Terrain is 3
to 4 depending on season. There is some minor exposure to actually
access the cache.
Please be careful! I was not able to get readings in a
circle around the actual cache - when you get there you will see why.
Plan on a whole day and bring a lunch. Also the camera and the trusty
binoculars. The rock behind (due North of) the cache is a mile away and
a kilometer high. Sometimes you can see campers on it.
Placed by a Tehipite Chapter Sierra Club outing on December 31st, 2000
at 1:50 pm. Leader Dave Wallace, plus Beth, Beverly and Kathy.

Special Information - Best good meal close by: Awhanee Hotel - about 3-4
miles by crow, 30+ by road. Entrance fee is $20 for the park unless you
have the Golden Eagle. Downhill skiing is close by. This is a ceramic
coffee canister - I think it will seal well but might be a little
fragile. Would like some feedback as to the condition of the container
please. It's not that big, small items only please. The sticker on top
was printed by one of my clients. USGS 7.5 Quad is 37119-F6-TF-024 also
