CAUTION! A rattlesnake has
been seen near the cache so please be carefull and use a
stick/pole to poke around when looking for this
cache.
Our dog Sam finally decided that it was about time he got
off his duff and hide a stash of his own. He also wanted to
dedicate this stash to his good ole buddy Dreyfuss who died
on August 9, 2001. Placed in Diablo Foothills
Regional Park, this cache is hidden about 1 mile from the
Livorna Staging area which is located at N37° 52.244 W122° 00.598.
Once you park your car, I would recommend starting your hike at the
Alamo Trailhead positioned at N37° 52.251 W122° 00.520. Since this
is a dog friendly park, bring your pooch or any other pet to the
hunt, and if it's a hot day, bring plenty of water since the trails
are mostly in the open. The cache however, is situated in a nice
shady area about 250' off trail with very little foxtails and no
poison oak.
One more thing, since Sam doesn't want the cache plundered by
some wild critter (particularly raccoons), please do not
place any food items such as dog biscuits, beef scented bones, etc.
in the cache.
Have fun, be safe and tread
lightly!
