Really SideTracked ~ Tettenhall Station Traditional Geocache

This cache has been archived.

DesG: Stopped off today while passing to check this out due to the recent DNF's to find the cache is indeed missing so it's time for this one to go, I may leave some of the others for a while as I haven't found the time to fetch them in.

Thanks to all those who have visited.

Geocache Description:

One of the "seed caches" from the"SideTracked in BRUM – a WWFM Event" which took place on 10 Nov 2007 @ 17:00GMT. It was extra special because it was part of a World Wide Geocaching event that occurred at exactly the same time in around 80 countries.

Tettenhall railway station

was a station on the Wombourne Branch Line. It was opened by the Great Western Railway in 1925, Tettenhall lost its passenger services in 1932 but survived for goods traffic until 1965 when the last train passed over the line on 24th of June.

Car parking is available within feet of the cache but only between dawn and dusk; please don’t cause obstruction or nuisance to the locals if coming out of these hours.

Activated on Christmas day to give local cachers the opportunity to go for a nice after dinner walk - the old railway line goes for miles - why not walk down to Compton and return via the Staffs & Worc canal.
