Geocache Description:




Il Monte Pasubio offre un tipico panorama montano mozzafiato e dei luoghi pieni di storia.
Ricoprì un fondamentale ruolo strategico nel Primo conflitto mondiale sia per gli italiani sia per l'esercito austro-ungarico. Nel 1916 fu teatro di violentissimi combattimenti, mentre nel 1917 e nel 1918 sui sentieri e nelle sue grotte si combattè una logorante, ma non per questo meno cruenta, guerra di posizione.

Le strade di accesso al Pasubio sono due, anzi tre!:
  • la strada degli Eroi che dal Pian delle Fugazze (1.162 slm) - galleria d'Havet al rifugio Gen. Papa, sbocca alle Porte del Pasubio (1.918 slm)
  • la strada degli Scarubbi che dal Ponte Verde (901 slm), per Colle Xomo (1.058 slm), Bocchetta di Campiglia, si inerpica sino alle porte del Pasubio, ricollegandosi alla strada degli Eroi.
  • la più famosa via d’accesso al Pasubio è stata costruita nel corso della Prima guerra mondiale e rappresenta una delle maggiori opere belliche di tutto il conflitto, che non ha probabilmente pari in nessun luogo. Si tratta della strada delle 52 gallerie. (Per maggiori informazioni guarda la cache Galleria ?? - mc116).
Durante l'inverno le strade sono chiuse a causa della neve.

Il cache si trova in un posto che invita a soffermarsi.

Der Pasubio liegt an der Grenze der Provinzen Venetien und Trentino, ca. 30 km Luftlinie östlich vom Gardasee. Es ist ein kleines Gebirgsmassiv mit dem Cima Palon(2235m) als höchsten Gipfel. Bei klaren Wetter hat man Sicht auf die Adria mit der Lagunenstadt Venedig, die Dolomiten, die Presanella und Adamello Gletscher, eigentlich den ganzen gewaltigen Alpenhauptkamm.

Ausgangspunkt für Wander oder Biketouren ist meistens der Passo Fugazze oder der Passo Xomo.
Es gibt drei Wege um zum Cache zu gelangen:
  • Entweder über der "Strada degli Eroi" ideal fuer Mountainbiker mit Parkplatz und Startpunkt beim "Passo Fugazze".
  • oder über der "Strada degli Scarubbi", die den selben Startpunkt (Passo Xomo) hat wie die interessanteste, geschichtsreichste und anspruchsvollste der drei Alternativen
  • die "Strada degli 52 gallerie" (Straße der 52 Tunnel) (Mehr Informationen dazu gibt es im Cache-Listing Galleria ?? - mc116).
Der Cache ist im Winter nicht erreichbar und befindet sich an einer Stelle die zum Verweilen einlädt.

The cache is in the area of Mount Pasubio, very amazing for the panorama and historically importance. This was an important theater of a long, hard battle during from 1916 up to the end of 1st World War between the Italian and Austro-Hungarican armies. It was a trench warfare and now it’s possible to visit the front lines and the works of fortification.

The cache was positioned along the “strada degli eroi” (“way of heroes”), built by military engineers, at 1890 meters. The path starts at “pian delle Fugazze” (1162 mt.) on the S.S. 46. and can be done by hiking or by mountain bike. An alternative route to reach the cache is via the the "Strada delle 52 Gallerie" (Road of 52 tunnels). (Check the cache Galleria ?? - mc116 for more information).

During the winter and early spring both ways are closed due to the snow. The best period to search the cache is from end May up to October.

The cache is hidden on a place which invites you to linger.
