St Nicholas
The 53rd in this series, started by sadexploration, is St Nicholas at Pyrford.
This is a fine example of a complete Norman church, built in about 1140 AD. Original frescoes painted in red ochre have been uncovered, the latest in 1967 and this one is reckoned to date from when the church was originally built.
Queen Eliabeth 1 used to visit her favourite lady in waiting who lived at Pyrford Place. It is generally considered that the Queen would have worshipped in the Church of St. Nicholas.
This micro is placed by a public footpath so keep an eye out for passing muggles.
The cache has a log book only plus micro certificates and hand made micro churches but no pen so please bring one with you.
If anybody would like to expand this series please do, I would just ask that you could let sadexploration know first so he can keep track of the Church numbers and names to avoid duplication
