Geocache Description:

18. sajandi alguses toimunud Põhjasõja tulemusel liideti Eesti Vene tsaaririigiga. Tallinna eeslinnade kasvamine kiirenes ning sealne kogukond täienes hulga vene uusasukate võrra. See tekitas eeslinnas vajaduse uute õigeusu kirikute järgi.

Neist esimesena valmis 1721. aastal Kaasani kirik. Tegu on Tallinna vanima säilinud puidust sakraalhoonega, mis on äsja hoolikalt ja originaalitruult renoveeritud. Õigeusu kogudus allub Moskva patriarhaadile.

Seal samas asub ka aare, mille sees valvavad kaks lepatriinut, sellest ka nimi: "Kahe lepatriinu" aare. Aardekarbis ei ole kirjutusvahendit!

**********************************************************

Estonia was made part of the Russian tsardom as a result of the Northern War in the early 18th century. The suburbs of Tallinn grew fast, and the community incorporated a large number of Russian immigrants. This created the need for new Orthodox churches in the suburbs. The first to be completed was the Church of Our Lady of Kazan. This church is the oldest preserved wooden church in Tallinn, and it has been carefully renovated to its original appearance.
The Orthodox congregation here belongs to the Moscow patriarchate.

Cache is outside the church area. Two ladybugs guarding the cache inside the box. Take your own pencil for logging.
Thank You!
