Espana

ENG

The fortress of Badajoz is located in the city of the same name on the top of the Muela’s hill.
The origin of the Alcazaba is the fortification constructed with brick and mortar of clay which lifted Ibn Marwan, in the ninth century. Almanzor I of Badajoz turned into a wall of stone and lime. Around 1170, it was repaired and expanded by order of the Caliph Abu Yusuf Yaqub.

The Fortress of Badajoz is the largest Arabic monument of its kind in Spain. Built almost entirely on “tapial” (soil compressed) it enclosed an eight hectare area. It has an oval layout and is reinforced with many towers and bastions.
Inside are the Remains of the primitive Christian cathedral of the thirteenth century, renaissance palaces, churches and shrines.

Cache: "Tuperware" box. Includes a logbook and some treasures.
